This policy explains what personal information CoreFinish collects when you contact us or use this website, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it in plain English rather than legal jargon.
1. Who we are
CoreFinish provides building and refurbishment services across Greater Manchester and the wider North West. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller for the information described in this policy.

2. What information we collect
Information you give us
When you enquire about work — through the quote form on this site, WhatsApp, email or phone — you may give us:
- Your name and contact details (phone number, email address)
- The postcode or address of the property the work relates to
- Details of the work you want, your budget range and preferred start time
- Any photographs, plans or documents you choose to send us
How the quote form works. When you press send, your details and any photos are transmitted over an encrypted connection to our web server, which immediately emails them to our office inbox. Nothing is saved to a database on this website — your enquiry then sits in our email account, where we keep it for the periods described in section 5. If you use the WhatsApp button instead, your message reaches us through WhatsApp under Meta's own privacy terms.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our web hosting provider keeps standard technical records — IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request — to keep the site secure, available and working correctly.
- Your cookie choice. If you accept or decline on our cookie notice, that choice is saved in your own browser's local storage so we don't ask again. It is not sent to us. See our Cookie Policy.
- Fonts. This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address in order to deliver them. See section 4.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
3. How and why we use your information

We do not send marketing emails or texts, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
4. Who we share your information with
We share your information only where it is needed to do the work or run the business:
- Messaging and email providers. If you contact us via WhatsApp, your message is processed by WhatsApp (Meta) under their terms. Emails are handled by our email and hosting provider.
- Web hosting and email provider. Hosts this website, relays the enquiry form to our inbox and keeps the server logs described above.
- Google. This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address. If you click through to our Google Business Profile to read or leave a review, you are then on Google's own service, governed by their privacy policy.
- Subcontractors and suppliers. Where a job needs a specific trade or a delivery to your address, we pass on only what is necessary — usually a name, address and access details.
- Professional advisers. Our accountant and, if ever needed, insurers or legal advisers.
- Authorities. Where we are required to share information by law, such as building control or HMRC.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become jobs: normally up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Customer and job records (quotes, invoices, correspondence, photos of work): at least 6 years after the job finishes, to meet tax rules and to cover any warranty or dispute.
- Server logs: kept for a short period by our hosting provider for security purposes.
6. Keeping your information safe
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Enquiries and job records are kept on password-protected devices and accounts, and access is limited to the people who need it to do the work. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
7. Information sent outside the UK
Some of the services we rely on — for example WhatsApp and Google — are operated by companies based outside the UK. Where information is transferred internationally, those providers use safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Ask us to delete information where we no longer need it
- Ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it
- Ask for your information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent, where we relied on consent to use it
To exercise any of these, email info@corefinish.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
9. Children
Our services are aimed at property owners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information about children through this website.
10. Other websites
This site links to services we don't control, including WhatsApp and Google. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices — please check their own policies.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the "last updated" date at the top.
